Over the weekend Google added another company to it's list of buyouts. After buying Labpixies last week, they bought BumpTop over the weekend. BumpTop makes some pretty cool desktops with a 3D interface. Check out this video released in September 2009.
BumpTop was happy to announce their buyout stating, "Today, we have a big announcement to make: we're excited to announce that we've been acquired by Google! This means that BumpTop (for both Windows and Mac) will no longer be available for sale. Additionally, no updates to the products are planned."
So what is it that Google is going to do with this technology? It would be cool if they produced an OS that can finally compete with Apple's iPhone and iPad. Hmmm...
