How to Block Adobe CS5 From Updating Your App - Mac OSX

Edit: This post is obsolete as the resource has been removed.

There are only a few reasons to stop Adobe CS5 from pinging the Adobe Servers. However, you may have a reason that you find to be perfectly valid. Well, if you are having trouble setting this up and you are on a Mac, there is a way. (Sorry, I don't use a Windows Machine)

The basic concept is you must setup some type of firewall to prevent Adobe from making a connection. There are programs out there that can help you do this, like Snitch. But lets face it, you don't want to pay for an application, and the mac makes it easy for you to do this without extra applicaitons on your machine.

I found the solution on machacks.tv. I must say  their instructions are easy to follow.

The first step is to visit : ‘Stop Adobe CS4 calling home to Mother Ship in OS X’

Follow the text edit instructions. When you get to the point that you are going to update the list of entries, you will need to visit : Stop Adobe CS5 calling home to Mother Ship in OS X

Add the CS5 list and save the file. That should be it.

You are done!
