According to a recent report at Chron.com, Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell is supporting Obama. The interesting thing here is that Rev. Caldwell is the Spiritual advisor to President Bush. It just goes to show you that religious figure do not necessarily follow political lines. I wonder if any significant contributions have been made to Windsor Village United Methodist Church on be half of Obama. Here is what a summary of the article:

The Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell, senior pastor of Windsor Village United Methodist Church, said Saturday that he's backing the Illinois senator because of Obama's "character, confidence and courage."

I recently visited topix.com and found this headline “Obama's SF Office Converted from Bong Shop.” Now that is interesting, but I found the comments to be even more interesting.

I live in Illinois, and I actually voted for him. What a mistake that was. He has not done anything for the people of Illinois, so I know that he won't do anything for our country. He is much more interested in the Hollywood crowd, and kissing Oprahs butt.

I found this interesting message on Hawaii’s craiglist:

There is no way these scum lords should be allowed to carry on with their criminal acts against us; least of all, the con-artist agents who scam innocent people to pay a "application fee" by telling them;

"oh, you should be fine, you'll qualify and you'll be on the top of the list" or,

"it'll take less than 1-hour,..."

These agents have scammed countless unsuspecting people of their money during their time of need. Of-course, there is not need to get into the ridiculous pricing for rent; everyone should be uniform in demanding reasonable pricing by limiting all rentals to be no more than $700 for a 1-bedrm; $900 for a 2-bedrm; $1200 for 3-bedrm, and all should have full-baths with full bathtubs, and no rental should be allowed to rent without at least 1-full-bath-tub bath and 10x12 foot minimum bedrm size to be counted as a bedrm.

People, please do not get scammed by agents demanding "application fees". Make your offer of 30-40% less and walk away. Let them sweat! If they really need the money, why don't the others? And if they are really able to do it within minutes, do so right in front of the potential renter/payee. That is, after the agent has paid the potential renter for their time and troubles, and waiting so patiently during their moment of stress and pressure!

Rentals agreements were created by landlords 320 years ago, and it is high time they were completely re-created for the people.

The author is obviously frustrated with Hawaii’s rental market. Sure renters tend to feel violated and taken advantage. The main reason for that is you have more renters than rentals. This allows owners to demand more money. Furthermore, they will be less willing to negotiate the rental amount. Cities like Orlando have exactly the reverse. The market in Orlando is a renters market, and they can negotiate down the advertised rent amount. However, negotiating the price in Hawaii will have weak results especially when you have multiple people that may be willing to pay the advertised rental amount.

I have seen rentals increase by at least $200 in the past year, without any improvement done to the property. In the last apartment building I lived in, each unit was the same size and had pretty much the same features. However, rent varied so dramatically. It was sickening to believe some paid 650 and some paid 1,000 for a small studio. This is obviously the result of a 2005 buyers market that drove home prices up.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much we can do. When you watch the news, you see families with 10-20 people in a 3-4 bedroom house. This shows just how many people there are trying or waiting to rent or buy a place of there own is such a tough market.

It will be interesting to see where things go in the future. Until then, complaints should be directed to those that can help change the system.

In an article at the Washington Post’s website, George McGovern states, “Nixon Was Bad. These Guys Are Worse.” That is a very interesting statement. These Guys, as Mcgovern puts it, are the Bush-Cheney administration. Mcgovern also calls it the Bush-Cheney regime.

In his article he states why the pair should be impeached. “Guilty of numerous impeachable offenses…” He goes on to talk about repeated violations of the Constitution. (Wait didn’t the pair write the Constitution?) He points out that the case against Bush and Cheney is far stronger than was the case against Nixon and Vice President Spiro T. Agnew after the 1972 election.

After reading through a ton of rentals on craigslist, I found this unbelievably priced apartment in Hawaii. I decided I should test the waters and e-mail them. This is what came back:

No I ain’t no rocket scientist, but this seems like one of those scams that have come out of Africa before, many times. First off, they cannot legally require 3 months rent up front, and it is wrong to rent a place if you cannot view the inside. I would keep an eye out for these posts on craigslist.
